Kyle Lake Awarded 2006 Lexington Rising Star

LEXINGTON, KY (BUSINESS LEXINGTON) -- Though we all strive for excellence, there are few who succeed at the fine balance that is required to “walk the walk” and meet with success in so many areas. On March 2, a select group of up-and-coming young professionals from around Lexington were recognized as the next class of Rising Stars - Rising Stars is LYPA’s premier event and, through those it honors, encompasses the most important tenets of the organization. The mission statement of LYPA is that we groom the next generation of community leaders while improving the quality of life in the city of Lexington.

LYPA’s Rising Stars are selected from a pool of candidates nominated by their peers and the nomination process is straightforward but in-depth, requiring information on community service, volunteerism, philanthropy and professional recognition. Past winners have included those in the legal, marketing and media fields. They are financial planners or local television personalities. They may be from divergent professional backgrounds, but the tie that binds is a deep responsibility to improve the community in which they live and/or work. After nominations are complete, winners are chosen based on strict criteria in each of those areas by a panel of judges that comprises business and community leaders.

CEO and Executive Producer of the Prosper Media Group, Inc, Kyle Lake has built his company, on a foundation of service that pervades his career and his personal life. Lake moved the seven-year-old business, which has produced everything from television commercials to international documentaries, to Lexington in 2004. As a graduate of the University of Kentucky’s MBA program, Lake has moved quickly to weave himself into the fabric of the community. He holds board positions for the Explorium of Lexington and Bluegrass Family Counseling Service, and he is a member of the advisory council for the United Way’s Get On Board program. Through his company, he has also worked to promote the messages of local non-profit groups such as Prevent Child Abuse Kentucky, Kentucky Child Now, and both UK’s President’s Commission on Women and Nonprofit Leadership Initiative.
